Poison:
From weakest to strongest poison concentration:  Mild, serious, dangerous, critical.
If you're not an Empath, then the only way to deal with poison is to either have an Empath heal you or wait for the poison to wear off.  We Empaths, on the other hand, have the option of learning the Flush Poisons spell.

• Poison (common)
  Cause: Box traps, scorpions.
  Affects: A specific body part.
  Symptoms: Swelling and bruising in the area when LOOKed at, a slight twinge in the afflicted body part every so often.  Internal wounds will develop, possibly causing blood flow.
  Box Trap: You notice a needle with a green discoloration on the tip.
  
• Nerve Poison
  Cause: Boxes, viper spit.
  Affects: The eyes and nervous system.
  Symptoms: A bad case of the shakes.  You may grimace in agony from the poison every so often.  Internal wounds will develop fairly quickly on the eyes and nerves, and may cause blood flow in the eyes.
  Box Trap: You notice a needle with a rusty discoloration on the tip.
  
• Internal Poison
  Cause: Boxes, eating poisonous substances.
  Affects: The chest, abdomen, and back.
  Symptoms: Appearance is pale and drawn.  Internal wounds will develop on the chest, abdomen, and back, possibly causing blood flow, especially in the chest.
  Box Trap: You notice a vial of lime green liquid just under the chest's lid. A stopper is attached so that the vial will open when the top is lifted.
  
• Stunning Poison
  Cause: Viper spit, or the fumes in the rock troll tar pits near Kaerna Village, or the volcano fumes in the ruined Sicle Grove.
  Affects: No parts in partcicular.
  Symptoms: You will suddenly fall over and be stunned for a length of time depending on your discipline and the poison strength.  This may happen multiple times if not healed.
  

Disease:
Information on the different disease types are being added as time permits.  If you wish to speed up the process, you can send in a description with the cause, affects, and symptoms.  (The types below aren't the only ones, I don't think.)

Acid:
Unfortunately, Empaths cannot heal acid directly, meaning we have no ability to take it or cast spells to be rid of it.  We can, however, monitor a patient's vitality while waiting for the acid to wear off.  Once it has, we can then take the wounds that remain.  The same holds true for us -- we just have to wait it out and heal the damage afterward.

To transfer your vitality to a patient, simply type TRANSFER or TAKE <patient>.  Remember to keep an eye on your own vitality level, as well.

Bloodworms and Leeches:
Empaths can't 'heal' bloodworms or leeches, but we can tend the body part that they're on to remove them.  (Much like we do with bolts, arrows, and darts.)  This teaches First Aid, Empathy, and some Mechanical Lore.  Make sure you have at least 40-50 ranks in First Aid before you try, however, or you could be stuck in a rather lengthy roundtime while your vitality gets sucked dry.

You can find bloodworms in the Marshes between Riverhaven and Dirge.  Just be careful of the blue-bellied crocodiles there.

Leeches, a bit farther away, are found in the Sand Pits of Muspar'i.

You'll know you've got them when you start to feel tired and your vitality begins to drop.  Though, you may not be able to see and detect them immediately.  As soon as you can, simply tend the body part that they're attached to in order to remove them.

Wounds

Compliments of Challeirra and Oasa's extensive testing, with additional help from Shaunn and other contributors, this section includes all wounds of all severities, conveniently listed by type!  Very useful for understanding the danger of your own wounds or those of your patient. 

A quick note:  Fatal wounds include useless wounds (fresh or scar, internal or external) to the head, neck, chest, abdomen and back.  Also, some combination of multiple devastating wounds to a vital body part seems to be fatal, but this has not been fully researched.
